Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)

NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steato-Hepatitis)

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, or NASH, is a chronic liver disease characterized histologically by the presence of liver inflammation and cellular suffering due to an accumulation of fat in the liver (steatosis) in at least 5% hepatocytes. NASH develops in the absence of excessive alcohol consumption and is linked to poor eating habits and lack of physical activity. We often talk about metabolic liver disease.
